| Ecstatic First Try on the Bike |
In case you're not in the know when it comes to trends in children's toys, let me fill you in. There's a new way to teach children how to a ride a bike. Training wheels are a thing of the past, as they have been replaced by the new pedal-free balance bike. The idea is that kids will master balancing, the most challenging bike skill, before transitioning to a regular bike and learning to pedal.
Although I was skeptical, Daddy insisted that Eleanor have a new fangled balance bike! She is still in the beginning stages of walking and holding up the bike for extended spurts of time. However, whenever we go outside to practice, she just ends up walking to the park while Daddy holds her bike. Even though she is still warming up to the bike, she does love its accessory, the helmet!
