I sat beside her in the car, just gazing at the little person who, just 2 days ago, was living and breathing inside of me.
Yes, we'd said good-bye to the expert doctors and nurses who had been there at our beck and call to advise us on all things baby.
What's scarier and even exhilarating was where we were headed.

Riding home, I was taken aback by the purest joy that consumed my entire being in that moment.
