Summer calls for swimming, right?

Eleanor took her first dip in a pool with our friends Katy and Emilio from church. I was nervous that she wouldn't care for the cool temperature of the water, but she dove right in (figuratively speaking, of course).

That's right; we've got a little guppy on our hands! In fact, she loved being in the floatie and using it to "walk" around every inch of the baby pool. Splashing at the water with her hand wasn't half bad either!

Her first experience with the water went so well that Kyle and I are hoping to put swimming lessons on E's itinerary in the near future!

Fun with Lisa

Kyle watched Eleanor so that Lisa and I could enjoy some much overdue "girl time."

Afterwards, we had a photo shoot and Kyle made "animal noises" to make Eleanor laugh.  Lisa and I thought it was hilarious while Eleanor just looked confused.

Daddy Day

We honored Kyle on Father's Day with the perfect picnic in late spring.

She has been out as long as she was in!

Date: June 9, 2013

Weight: 16 lbs. and 1 oz.

Developmental Happenings: speed crawls, pulls herself up on everything, cruises along the couch, wants a taste of everything Mommy eats even when it's in addition to her 3 meals a day, climbs steps and hangs on gates like a monkey, wakes at least 1-2 times a night to nurse, plays with and explores toys on her own, loves shaking and banging objects to make noise, puts everything in her mouth, still comforted by her lovey at night, naps twice a day (in the morning and afternoon), beginning to make waving motions with her arm, knows and responds to her name

Old Baby E

Here is a current shot of the New Moms Group.  Now that Eleanor wants to crawl around everywhere and investigate all of the other babies and all of their toys, we seem to be outgrowing this activity.  I've been forced to feed her during the meetings just to keep her occupied.  In fact, just recently she was the oldest baby in attendance.  Hard to believe, but true!

E and I are smack dab in the center!

Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh my!

Eleanor took her first visit to the zoo at Washington, D.C.'s National Zoo.  It was a cold and blustery day, which was surprising to find in June.  However, the animals must have enjoyed the weather because they were quite active.  In fact, we even got to see the lion scratching his tree and hear him roar repeatedly.

Kyle and I enjoyed spotting the oryxes because they reminded us of New Mexico.  On the other hand, Eleanor's favorite critters were the monkeys and meerkats.  Her eyes were fixed on them as they moved around their habitats.  Personally, I think they must have reminded Eleanor of Tiney!

We swing. A lot.

After Kyle leaves for work in the evenings, Eleanor and I like to hit up the park since the early summer weather is still fair.  E will ride in the baby swing for a bit as I push her, and she'll give me lots of smiles. Then we switch to the big kid swing and fly off together.

I don't want to forget these moments. Ever.
