On Monday, we celebrated Buddy’s birthday. His mom made us delicious healthy cookies. Thank you!
Jan. 26: This week, we made more snow dough. We have been singing “Winter Fun” and a song about January. The Fireflies have been working on the class snowman. We have been painting cardboard and gluing cotton balls, which helps with fine motor development. In the sensory table, the students started the week by exploring and cutting straws. Later in the week, pipe cleaners and magnetic wands were added. In the blocks, we used letter cards to create names and words.
Jan.19: This week, we made snow dough by measuring equal parts shaving cream and glue. Then, we added glitter. Our creations are on the bulletin board across from the classroom door. In addition, each child answered an individual question and that answer is on the board. This week, we started work on our class snowman. We also made a mural with chalk on black paper. We were inspired by our reading of Snowmen at Night and other winter books. We have been singing “Winter Fun” and a song about January.
On Tuesday, we celebrated Claire’s birthday and her mom was our guest reader! She read Cinders: A Chicken Cinderella by Jan Brett. Thank you for the delicious muffins!
Jan. 12: On Tuesday, we attended Chapel with Pastor Bill. We have been singing “Winter Fun.” The students have been working on new stories! They have all grown so much since September! We painted with “snow paint” at the end of the week and we will make more next week. We have been talking about making snow people. The students have been sharing their thoughts about what a snow person needs.
