More Than a Bedroom
Before Baby Brother moves in and turns life as we know it upside down, I wanted to take some pictures of Eleanor's room and remember the life lived there.
Dearest Eleanor,
This is where Daddy excitedly put your crib together and decorated your walls with cherry blossom stickers,
Where he finished and repainted your rocker, changing table, dresser, and night stand,
Where you received your first at-home sponge bath squirming and crying at the top of your lungs,
Where Daddy and I changed your clothes and messy diapers millions of times at all hours of the night and day,
Where I gazed lovingly into your eyes as I nursed you on the Boppy,
Where we read book after book after book after book while rocking away,
Where we shared goodnight prayers and hugs and kisses,
Where you slept peacefully listening to lullabies as Daddy and I watched you on the monitor screen,
Where I got the BEST morning greetings and smiles from you,
Where you played blocks and puzzles and dress up and laid out blankets and burp cloths on your floor so that every baby doll and stuffed animal had a place to nap,
Where you grew up from newborn sleepers to big girl panties and crib bumpers to a toddler bed, and
Where one day, not too terribly long from now, you'll share your space with a new best friend, your very own baby brother.
We've made such special memories here together, and more are to come.
Love you,
Mommy
Still Counts
Well, there wasn't much white on the ground, but we still attempted a snow angel, and... Mommy got a day off from school!
Approved!
Thirty-four degree weather wasn't cold enough to stop us from testing out the new equipment at a nearby playground that was recently renovated.
In spite of the chill, Eleanor still gave her approval!
Afternoon Playdate
Flurry
Looking for Snow That Needs Scooping
Well, another snow shower came our way. This time it was only a brief flurry, but it still left white on the ground and cars. Therefore, it was enough to create significant excitement in our household this morning!

New Playroom
We accomplished the hefty task of transforming our storage/pantry basement into a playroom (with guest bed). Already it has been such a blessing to have a little extra space to relax as a family and enjoy those activities and toys that demand lots of room.
As you'll see, Eleanor is now getting in lots more opportunities for tunnel exploring, sliding, piano playing, circus tent reading, basketball shooting, grocery shopping, town building, bowling, painting, cow riding, etc.!

Snow... Finally
Eating the "Ice"
I wasn't sure if we'd see more than a light dusting this winter, but this morning's white flakes kept fallin' and fallin'.
Our 3+ inches of snow created very unsafe driving conditions (which got us stuck halfway up a hill in the car), and although it was deserving of a school delay or cancellation, we had no such luck.
So, that just meant waking up extra early and rushing home after work was a must so that we could maximize our play opportunities in the first "real" snow of the season!
E loved the snow so much that I could barely convince her to get in the car to leave for school.
