In the words of Pooh

Playdate

Me and Eleanor, Ashley and Aleena, and Megan and Lily

Some Maryland friends trekked over to our neck of the woods in Alexandria for lunch and a weekend playdate.  These little baby girls were adorable together.

Lily had a blast with the tunnel!

That.  Face.

I got to hold sweet Aleena!

"I'm gonna get you!"

At 14 Months

My Sugar Bear

Eleanor Claire is...

  • Walking, walking, walking... (only) where she wants to go
  • Pretend-talking on Mommy's i-phone (the remote control, water bottles, and other small objects)
  • Brushing her hair
  • Ringing the doorbell when we arrive at school
  • Flipping the light switch "off" and "on"
  • Practicing feeding herself with her spoon (and making huge messes)
  • Smacking her lips repeatedly
  • Putting on her shoes (hitting her foot with her shoe when she wants it on)
  • Always excited to go down the park slides
  • Talking up a storm with expression and babbles galore
  • Drinking milk from cows (only)
  • Pointing at whatever catches her attention and saying "do"
  • Waving hi, bye-bye, and blowing kisses
  • Wearing 9 and 12-month clothes
  • Clapping, bouncing her body, and dancing to any music she hears
  • Officially has 5 teeth grown in (3 on top and 2 on the bottom)
  • Shaking her head "no" to foods she doesn't want
  • Signing "all done" when's she's finished eating
  • Putting rings on her pole toy independently

So Funny

Cabining

With a baby, our hobby of roughing-it camping quickly transitioned to luxury cabining.  Luckily, we and the P Family adapted well to the change during out 2-night stay at Shenandoah River State Park.

Our hiking backpacks may now house pacifiers and diapers for the first time ever.  Not to mention, we traded in the Jansport for an Eleanor-filled Ergo.  However, some things will never change... like campfire s'mores, star-filled skies, tall trees, fresh air, and quality time with those you love.

Eleanor fought the Ergo until she was too tired to fight (or cry).

We got our photo snapped for the paper during the church Fall Festival.  I'd say we're practically local celebrities now!
