| Our Family Photo from Church on Easter Morning |
On Holy Thursday, we were dinner guests at a church member's home. Just as Jesus shared meals with his disciples and early Christians continued this tradition after His resurrection, we joined for community and fellowship. We worshipped God as part of our Agape meal, or Love feast, to remember the meals Jesus had and support each other in love and faith. The dinner was a delicious Kosher pot luck. After eating, the group discussed the significance of Holy Thursday/Passover/Last Supper and described what it looked like for Jesus.
Friday was a day of packing and driving since we were heading to my friend Lisa's home in Pennsylvania. Between stop and go traffic and Eleanor's wailing fit, it was a rough drive. However, it was a joy getting to spend some time with Lisa and share in her family's Easter celebration with 20+ people on Saturday afternoon. This was our second time spending Easter with the BD clan, and they never cease to make us feel loved and welcome!
Did I mention that Eleanor slept terribly on Friday night? Woah! It was like having a 1 month old baby again. She cried so much and was very hard to settle down... over and over again. I don't think Kyle or I got even 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep that night.
The good thing was, this bizarre and exhausting behavior must have worn her out because she slept the entire ride home back to Virginia on Saturday night. Praise God for that. Unfortunately, I became pretty sick with cold like symptoms and Kyle was beginning to feel them too.
Well, that brings us to Sunday, Easter Day! Rejoice! The tomb was empty! He is Risen!
Our plans to attend the sunrise service with the Bluegrass band on the church lawn did not win out over rest. Stuffy noses, sneezes, and fever meant sleeping in was a must. Even Eleanor had developed a slight baby snore due to congestion.
We did manage to make it to the late service, and I'm glad we did. The pastor painted a beautiful picture of him carrying his granddaughter through the snow and compared it to the way Jesus can and will lift us up during life's most trying moments. The story was especially poignant as I thought of our sweet Eleanor.
Kyle cooked up a yummy Easter breakfast with french toast and bacon when we got home from church. It was raining outside and we were all still very under the weather, so the remainder of the day was spent vegging out in pajamas with jellybeans and a box of tissues. I did, however, get a quick Skype session in with the O family in Florida during the madness of the egg hunt! We were missing the S and O families today. That's for sure.
Finally, we even celebrated Easter at the New Moms Group. All of the babies came dressed in their spring time outfits and we took a group shot. It's weird and kind of sad that Eleanor is getting to be one of the older women of the group now. My, time does fly.

| Eleanor is wearing an old outfit that belonged to me, I believe. There are two cute little rabbits sewn on at the top. |
