Rained Out?

It has felt like an endless flood lately with all of the rain, which resulted in Eleanor's first tennis lesson being cancelled.  So, we headed to the library instead, picking out books and reading snuggled up together until closing.  Not a bad afternoon at all!

We were guests at the Teddy Bear Picnic at our neighborhood library today.  Under a nice shade tree, we enjoyed the company of furry friends, along with snacks, crafts, stories, and songs.

E Using All of the Glitter Crayons for Crafting

Rainbow Rock

Eleanor had been requesting to see the band Rainbow Rock, so their performance at an Alexandria library over the weekend couldn't have been better planned.  Eleanor was selected as a helper for a song, and she even got to wear a beautiful rainbow mask as she helped lead in the moves.  Later in the show, Caleb got a chance to dress up as a tiger, too, so both kids were pretty stoked.  Afterwards, we played at a nearby playground and built rain gauges at home.  

Library and Art

Today I pushed the kids in the stroller to the library in Old Town to see a special puppet performance and check out some new books.  Later that day, we did art projects with stickers and stamps galore!

Caleb went up and kissed the puppet good bye all on his own before we left.

Music and Books

Today we caught one of our favorite performers, Uno, Dos, Tres Con Andres, at a local library for part of Alexandria's summer programming.  During our visit, Eleanor especially loved picking out lots of new stories and Caleb enjoyed interacting with a new friend who took a liking him.  As for Mama, I was partial to the music and espanol!

Waynesville

On Tuesday, the fun continued in Waynesville at the downtown library for songs, stories, and homework; The Patio for lunch; and Mast General Store for shopping.  Afterwards, we had some down time at the cabin, and the lake began calling us for a walk, so we gladly obliged.
