As I mentioned in an earlier post, Kyle working night shift has been a bit of a nightmare.
Perhaps "train wreck" might be a more accurate description. Yes, train wreck. That sounds about right. And a very tired and grumpy one at that. Hence, the request for prayers.
Anyway, life hasn't gotten any easier since his crazy schedule went into effect. If anything, it has gotten more difficult.
You see, Eleanor caught a bad cold and was having trouble breathing. Between the coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and elevated temperature, she was uncomfortable all around. This made her days less enjoyable and everyone's nights very, very sleep deprived.
On top of that, I also developed an infection causing much discomfort and stress on my end.
Kyle practically begged multiple times to be switched back to days, but his requests were denied.
I kept asking our maid to pick up the slack with the cleaning around the house, but she went on vacation to Aruba. The nerve! Apparently, she took the cook, nanny, dog walker, and my personal trainer along too.
Well, we're still all out of sorts around here, and we feel like we're at our breaking point.
We too need a Caribbean getaway. In fact, I could go for a package deal with a getaway and nevercomebackagain.
Then, Kyle figured he'd ask for a week off of work since they wouldn't switch him back to days. We both knew getting off was a loooooongshot.
Good thing we serve a God bigger than our careers or managers or night shifts! In case you haven't guessed, Kyle was granted the time off.
Now we're sending our praises to God and prepping for what will be a glorious stay at the cabin in Junaluska.
