Mother's Day

As if I hadn't already been showered with tons of love already by E and C at their school, the love kept on comin' on the actual day.  I was treated to a yummy breakfast, gorgeous flowers, and delectable chocolate covered strawberries.  After church, we also got to enjoy a special party to celebrate the baptism of the G boys.  may 14

E's School Update

Ms. Luz and I want to thank you all so very much for all the beautiful flowers and letters from the children writing about their favorite things that we do for them. We appreciate all of the love and kind words that we received. We love our jobs and we especially love the Bears!

We also hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day Tea. Thank you all for coming. It was very special for your children. They worked hard on their self-portraits for you. We hope you liked them. We know they were so happy you were there.

We always read many books to the children. This week one book that we read was "Sylvester and The Magic Pebble." This is a Caldecott Award winning book and the children loved it. Today we read "This Moose Belongs To Me." It's a funny book and next week we are going to draw the Moose in this book . It should be fun and will strengthen our fine motor skills.

Bud's School Update

What a great week! The Sprouts had a chance to make cloud dough which is one cup of oil to eight cups of flour. They measured, poured and stirred together with their hands. Also, the Sprouts made a mess with milk. We dropped some soap and food coloring on a plate and then spilled some milk. It was so cool to see the water move around within the space on the plate. These were two science experiments that tied in nicely with our story It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles G. Shaw. You will see more during the Science/Literacy Fair next week. We have been able to watch the changes with the ladybugs this week and hope that our seeds sprout soon. The butterflies will be joining us soon, but still are in the chrysalis form. Many observations are being made outside when it's not raining. We have taken nature walks and stopped along the way to make some observations of the new growth around our environment. The Sprouts had some more practice with developing stronger fine motor skills popping bubble wrap and working with stickers. The lunch conversations are priceless and words are all over the air. Love, love, love how everyone is really communicating with one another now. The Mother's Day Tea was lovely and I'm so glad that everyone enjoyed their time together. We hope you have your five minutes of peace on Mother's Day.
